The Connection of Sesame Street

For more than a quarter century Sesame Street has linked children together around the world. This program informs and teaches kids about popular culture, the alphabet, numbers, and basic human values through fun and quirky stories.

When a friend of mine immigrated to Canada, she learned how to speak English by watching the program. The Count is still her favorite, a one, a two, a three... ah ah haaa!

Recently I came across the parody of the Old Spice Commercial as posted on YouTube and it reminded me of the importance of programs like Sesame Street on our collective experience and how it still keeps generation after generation connected.

Enjoy!

Pale Blue Dot, Carl Sagan

Part of Image:Planetary society.jpg Original c...Image via WikipediaUntil last week I don't believe I had ever heard of Carl Sagan. It was a video posted on a friend's Facebook page that brought this gentlemen to my attention.

Sagan was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, and author.

I have not read Pale Blue Dot - yet, so this is a twist on PageTurners. But when I listened to this snipet as posted on YouTube there wasn't much more I could say or would want to.

Later this week I will post other vingettes from Pale Blue Dot.

Enjoy!
